Well i spose the first thing to do is to begin. Ill be straight with you all im at a loss as to where to start so ill just go ahead and explain to you what this post will be about. I hopefully here plan to list off several novel series that you might in the future pick up and enjoy. Nothing more nothing less.
To start off with id like to highly recommend picking up the
"Eye of the World" by Robert Jordan. This book is a great reader to start off with in fantasy. Mr. Jordan here has done a great job assuring that the visuals he attempts to portray are extremely detailed and easy to follow. He also introduces us into a world where many roles of society are reversed compared to most modern day equivalents and even brings in a classic main characters along with several (i mean a butload) of side characters. The world is dominated by women who use the "one power" or magic to rule and men are considered "tainted" and are destroyed or cut off from the magic itself. However the time for a prophecy to be fulfilled has come and the world must rely its sole existance on one person. A male mage. The Dragon Reborn, will scorn, hate, prejudice and injustice let him destroy the world? Or will he save it with all its perversities.
It focuses on the rebirth of someone that everyone refers to as the "Dragon Reborn". The start of the story is meant to portray a Female mage like character coming to this small village called Edmond's field seeking for more women to take up the mantle and become mages themselves. Upon entering the village she meets some promising women. However she runs into 3 promising young men and one of them is a mage with nearly unimaginable power.
This is the general given description of the novel but strongly recommend you look into it yourself.
"The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again. In the Third Age, an Age of Prophecy, the World and Time themselves hang in the balance. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow."
This story is a pretty good read. It offers everything you would ask of a fantasy and better yet its an amazing 11 volumes long at this point in time. You all might think o great I dont want to read 11 books just to complete one series.......well ill be straight with you....they expect to have 13 <_< in total.thanks for reading the long post and please comment on what you think of the novel itself if you havent read it. Otherwise please please please ask me questions about it. Later ill be posting about some games i play quite a bit.
